Legal Consultant and Lawyer

Erik Oliveara Mendez obtained a law degree from Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla in Mexico. Today, Erik Olivera Mendez has amassed knowledge in different areas of law and works as a legal consultant.

The legal profession is full of various careers, including that of a legal consultant and a litigation lawyer. Though similar, there are specific differences between them. A legal consultant is a lawyer who works outside of the courtroom. Clients and businesses usually hire legal consultants to offer legal advice and ensure they are in line with the law in their dealings. Most legal consultants have an area of expertise and dish advice based on the knowledge they have amassed in that particular area of law. Also, legal consultants are more natural in the part of legal consensus building with the clients and may sometimes guide a client into picking a lawyer fit for their case.

On the other hand, lawyers defend and litigate in the court of law and arbitrations. Lawyers also conduct adequate research on cases and how it relates to the current case before them. They then give their clients all of their information from the research and work with them to solve the problem. Additionally, lawyers involve themselves in preparing legal documents and court filing requirements. Further details of their work include sourcing for the credibility of facts and amalgamating them into a single piece of work.

Overall, the main distinction between a legal consultant and a lawyer is that legal consultants serve as legal advisers. In contrast, a lawyer can represent you before a judge in court.
